Summary/Objective: 

The Dispensary Manager, reporting directly to the Northeast Regional Manager, Retail Operations, is responsible for managing all daily operations of a dispensary, leading a customer-centric team and providing clear direction to achieve company initiatives. Additionally, the Dispensary Manager implements and maintains the policies and procedures of the Company and ensures compliance with all state and local laws and regulations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

Responsibilities 

  • Daily balancing of cash and product inventory, and training management team on cash and product inventory reconciliation. 
  • Observing and participating in customer service on sales floor, including agent productivity and customer engagement. 

  • Auditing Communication Binder for current information and updates. 

  • Auditing of customer intake forms, for accuracy and completion. 

  • Executing and maintaining compliance of all local and state regulations. 

  • Maintaining accountability of all team members, in relation to specific job description. 

  • Preparing weekly schedules to ensure there is proper floor coverage, based on business needs. 

  • Performing general office work, such as filing records, operating copy machines, and using email as correspondence. 

  • Upholding all Company policies and procedures. 

  • Requests, through Director of Retail Operations, all facility maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, snow removal and technology. 

  • Providing Director of Retail Operations with feedback on inventory levels and sales on a weekly basis. 

  • Responsible for monitoring daily time and attendance approving and processing time-off requests. 

  • Auditing and ensuring that all agents maintain proper record keeping such as customer forms, cash handling records chain of custody documents and waste disposal logs. 

Training & Development  

  • Providing training and development to ensure all  agents greet customers with a helpful, pleasant and compassionate attitude; making every interaction a positive experience. 

  • Recruiting, Interviewing and hiring all team members, to maintain proficient staffing plans. 

  • Provide training for team members on confidentiality requirements. 

  • Providing training and development to all agents to ensure proficiency in inventory management and point of sale platform and DPH Virtual Gateway system. 

  • Participating in weekly conference calls with Director of Retail Operations and GMs from other locations. 

  • Ensuring that all team members are trained and current on product knowledge and proper dosage. 

  • Ensuring that all team members are maintaining current policies and procedures as well as all state and local laws and regulations. 

  • Performing team Core Competency evaluations quarterly. 

  • Performing team annual performance evaluations. 

  • Executing team performance counseling, when needed. 

  • Attend weekly touch bases with Director of Retail Operations to discuss short term objectives/action items and long-term strategic goals. 

  • Training and monitoring quarterly DOR program for management team 

  • Reviewing and updating customer educational materials. 

  • Developing team members for Individual Development Plans (IDP). 

  • Conducting weekly management team meetings 

  • Conducting quarterly team meetings. 

  • Setting up succession planning program. 

Company Culture  

  • Being a MMI brand ambassador and training team members to represent the brand appropriately. 

  • Implement and participate in community outreach program, building relationships with community leaders and trust from our neighbors. 

  • Following and implementing the Company's core values, including respect, diversity, sustainability, research and service. 

  • Ensuring that all team members are adhering to the Company's cultural principles. 

  • Responsible for maintaining dispensary aesthetic according to the Company brand, including music selection and daily dispensary cleanliness.

Controlling & Preventing Loss  

  • Ensuring that all team members are proficient in cash balancing and product protection. 

  • Leading monthly physical inventory. 

  • Executing self-compliance audits monthly. 

  • Ensuring that all team members train with Director of Security for prevention of diversion of cash and/or product, within the first month of hire. 

  • Conducting random audits of cash and/or product, using audit checklist. 

  • Reviewing security procedures and protocols with management team. 

  • Reviewing incident reporting, with management team. 

  • Executing monthly product inventory. 

  • Ensuring daily balancing or cash and product are being done according to the Company and DPH policies. 

  • Reviewing Loss Prevention (LP) procedures with team on a quarterly basis.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Must be 21 years old. 

  • 3-5 years’ experience in retail management, managing a diverse team. 

  • College degree, preferred. 

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. 

  • Experience in retail, hospitality or customer services, preferred. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Basic math skills. 

  • Ability to work in a team environment 

  • Experienced in a fast paced, high transaction environment. 

  • Having good organizational skills. 

  • Having decision making skills. 

  • Being analytical. 

  • Being detail oriented. 

  • Being proactive.
