Position Summary:
As the Senior Maintenance Technician, you'll play an essential role in ensuring the operational integrity and functionality of our facilities. Your responsibilities will include performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting equipment issues, and conducting repairs to keep our premises in optimal condition. From electrical and plumbing repairs to HVAC system maintenance, you will apply your technical expertise to address a variety of maintenance needs.
Essential Functions:
Collaborating with the facilities management team, you will also be responsible for identifying potential issues, recommending improvements, and ensuring that safety standards are met. Your role is vital in contributing to a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment for our staff and visitors. The following essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on equipment and machinery, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Troubleshoot machinery breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted production.
Implement and adhere to a preventive maintenance schedule, conducting routine checks, lubrication, and adjustments to machinery to prevent failures.
Diagnose equipment malfunctions, replace defective parts, and execute repairs using hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring instruments.
Conduct maintenance tasks for the facility, including repairs to plumbing, lighting, HVAC systems, and building infrastructure to ensure a safe working environment.
Adhere strictly to safety protocols, ensuring all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies to prevent accidents or injuries.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment condition, and repairs conducted, and generate reports as needed.
Follow a predetermined maintenance schedule provided by our third-party vendors to ensure timely inspections, lubrication, and adjustments on machinery.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to schedule maintenance tasks that minimize disruption to operations schedules.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues, reporting issues, recommending improvements, and providing status updates on maintenance tasks.
Calibrate machinery and equipment to ensure accuracy, adherence to quality standards, and compliance with industry regulations.
Identify opportunities for process improvements, recommend upgrades, modifications, or replacements to enhance equipment performance and efficiency.
Respond to emergency maintenance situations promptly, assess the situation, and take necessary actions to resolve issues efficiently.
Provide guidance and training to other maintenance personnel or manufacturing team members on equipment operation and maintenance best practices.

Qualifications + Education:
Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older (18 in NY).
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Must consent to a criminal background check.
Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of the criminal background check.
Minimum of three years’ experience in general maintenance.
Completion of vocational training programs or technical certifications in areas such as electrical systems, mechanical systems, industrial maintenance, or related fields is highly preferred.
Proficiency in mechanical systems, electrical systems, hydraulics, and other relevant technical skills required for equipment maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
Strong troubleshooting capabilities to diagnose equipment malfunctions and identify root causes of issues efficiently.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work in fast-paced environments, and respond to maintenance needs promptly.
Understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to machinery and equipment maintenance to ensure a safe working environment.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Strong interpersonal abilities for seamless collaboration across all company levels.
Reliability is a must.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, report issues, follow instructions, and interact with third-party vendors.
Able to prioritize tasks effectively and work in a heavily regulated environment.
Working Conditions:
The employee works in either a dispensary and/or cultivation environment. The employee may be required to use a computer, telephone, and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The position also requires a high level of attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency. The employee must be able to work in a fast-faced environment, handling routine and reoccurring tasks.
The employee will work in environments that include exposure to, but not limited to dirt, fertilizers, dusts, odors, fumes, high heat, low temperature, high and low humidity, high noise levels, vibrations, water, dry salts, allergens, pollen, dust, plant pathogens, other volatile organic compounds, heights, indoor A/C, no A/C, and other environmental variables.
The position also requires a high level of scheduling flexibility and will occasionally include evening, weekend, and holiday work hours. The employee will encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday and must have a high regard for self-management, time management, and scheduling of activities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time, move around, and clearly communicate. The employee must constantly position oneself to move freely. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance. The employee should have the ability to meet the physical demands of lifting, carrying and positioning heavy objects and should be familiar and comfortable using the assistance of push/pull manual transport equipment (ex: pallet jack, hand truck). The employee will often need to use a ladder, with up to a 12’ extension and general hardware tools.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
