Position Summary:
As a Cultivation Lead on our Flower team, you assume a key role in overseeing and managing the cultivation process within our production facility. Your primary responsibility is to lead and coordinate cultivation activities, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), regulatory guidelines, and quality standards. You'll supervise and guide cultivation technicians, delegating tasks, providing training, and ensuring the cultivation team operates efficiently. Your role involves hands-on participation in cultivation tasks, including planting, watering, feeding, pruning, and harvesting plants, while also monitoring plant health and environmental conditions.

Essential Functions:
Additionally, collaboration with cultivation managers and other departments is essential to optimize cultivation processes, address any issues or improvements, and maintain a consistent and high-quality cultivation operation. Your leadership, advanced knowledge in cultivation techniques, and attention to detail will directly impact the success of the cultivation process and the production of top-quality cannabis products. The following essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Perform day-to-day tasks involved in cannabis cultivation, including planting, watering, feeding, pruning, and harvesting plants.
  • Oversee and support the daily workflow of the assigned area(s).
  • Monitor plant health, identifying and addressing issues such as pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance with local regulations and laws governing cannabis cultivation.
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene standards within the cultivation area.
  • Monitor and adjust environmental factors like temperature, humidity, and lighting to optimize plant growth.
  • Operate and maintain cultivation equipment such as lighting systems, irrigation, and ventilation systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of cultivation activities, including plant growth, treatments, and environmental conditions.
  • Abide by Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) as outlined by the United States Department of Agriculture.
  • Collaborate with cultivation team members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively and coordinate waste disposal according to the established policies and procedures and ensure it is properly stored.
  • Communicate any observations, issues, or improvements in the cultivation process to supervisors or relevant personnel.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
  • Assist in quality control processes, including following quality standards and monitoring and assessing plant quality throughout the cultivation cycle.
  • Participate in training programs and stay updated on industry best practices to enhance cultivation techniques.
  • Propose improvements or optimizations in cultivation methods to improve efficiency and yield.

Qualifications + Education:
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must consent to a criminal background check.
  • Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
  • A minimum of one year in the cannabis industry and six months' experience working in the specific area of this role is required.
  • Experience in operations production/manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of cannabis cultivation, strains, and growth cycles is required.
  • A minimum of one year in a leadership/supervisory role is required.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental factors affecting plant growth, such as light, humidity, and temperature is required.
  • Strong attention to detail to monitor plant health, identify issues, and implement corrective measures.
  • Advanced knowledge of state-specific cannabis laws and regulatory compliance is non-negotiable.
  • Ability to work independently or with others, coordinate multiple tasks, and prioritize work effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, adept at fostering relationships and collaborating seamlessly across all levels of the company and with external partners.
  • Meticulous organizational skills with acute attention to detail.
  • Proficient in both oral and written communication.

Working Conditions
The employee works in either a dispensary and/or cultivation environment. The employee may be required to use a computer, telephone, and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The position also requires a high level of attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency. The employee must be able to work in a fast-faced environment, handling routine and reoccurring tasks.
The employee will work in environments that include exposure to, but not limited to dirt, fertilizers, dusts, odors, fumes, high heat, low temperature, high and low humidity, high noise levels, vibrations, water, dry salts, allergens, pollen, dust, plant pathogens, other volatile organic compounds, heights, indoor A/C, no A/C, and other environmental variables.
The position also requires a high level of scheduling flexibility and will occasionally include evening, weekend, and holiday work hours. The employee will encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday and must have a high regard for self-management, time management, and scheduling of activities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time, move around, and clearly communicate. The employee must constantly position oneself to move freely. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance. The employee should have the ability to meet the physical demands of lifting, carrying and positioning heavy objects and should be familiar and comfortable using the assistance of push/pull manual transport equipment (ex: pallet jack, hand truck). The employee will often need to use a ladder, with up to a 12’ extension and general hardware tools.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour
