Position Summary:
As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will oversee and coordinate the maintenance activities within our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to manage a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks, and ensuring efficient execution of maintenance plans. You'll be responsible for developing and implementing maintenance schedules, conducting inspections, and prioritizing repairs to minimize downtime and ensure equipment

Essential Functions:
Collaborating closely with other departments, you'll oversee inventory management, procurement of spare parts, and adherence to safety standards and regulations. Your role will also involve evaluating team performance, providing training, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Ultimately, as the Maintenance Supervisor, you'll play an essential role in maintaining a safe, operational, and efficient working environment. The following essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Policies + Procedures + Maintenance Operations
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules, plans, and procedures for equipment, machinery, and facility upkeep.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to schedule maintenance tasks that minimize disruption to operations.
  • Oversee troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure optimal functionality.
  • Manage inventory levels of spare parts, tools, equipment, and supplies required for maintenance activities and coordinate the procurement of necessary materials.
  • Assist in administering the site’s safety program as related to maintenance operation and work with the Safety Manager to develop programs, procedures, and training to maintain effective and compliant safety procedures.
  • May perform any and all functions of the Senior Maintenance Technician and/or the Maintenance Technician as required.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards during maintenance activities to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs conducted, safety inspections, inventory levels, and equipment condition.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of the facility, equipment, and work areas, identifying potential hazards and ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Implement corrective actions and safety measures to mitigate risks, maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Generate reports detailing maintenance metrics, including downtime, repairs, and resource utilization.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, reliability enhancements, and cost-saving measures within the maintenance department.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, or service providers when specialized maintenance tasks require external expertise.
  • Ensure maintenance activities meet quality standards, aiming for optimal equipment performance and longevity.
  • Follow and implement the company’s core values including respect, diversity, sustainability, research, and service.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to maintenance team members, setting clear expectations, and fostering a culture of compliance, productivity, and teamwork.
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the maintenance team, assigning tasks, managing workloads, and ensuring adherence to deadlines. Maintain an organized workflow to optimize efficiency.
  • Monitor team performance, productivity, and quality of all maintenance activities.
  • Foster a culture of motivation, engagement, and accountability among team members, encouraging collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that team members follow company policies, SOPs, and compliance standards, providing guidance and reinforcement as necessary.
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance the team's skills and knowledge in maintenance processes, systems, and relevant industry standards.
  • Oversee and co-manage maintenance team members including hiring, training, and scheduling.
  • Provide feedback and documentation to the Maintenance Manager to assist in team member performance evaluations.
  • Serve as the “resource” for all team members for questions regarding department policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Encourage open communication, actively listen to team member feedback, and address concerns to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Acknowledge and appreciate employees’ contributions, providing recognition for exceptional performance.
  • Efficiently allocate resources to optimize productivity and achieve team objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records of team members’ training sessions and certifications, ensuring compliance with documentation requirements.

Qualifications + Education:
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must consent to a criminal background check.
  • Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in general maintenance in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Minimum of one year’s experience in a maintenance supervisor role.
  • Completion of vocational training programs or technical certifications in areas such as electrical systems, mechanical systems, industrial maintenance, or related fields is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in mechanical systems, electrical systems, hydraulics, and other relevant technical skills required for equipment maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities to diagnose equipment malfunctions and identify root causes of issues efficiently.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and proof of valid auto insurance.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work in fast-paced environments, and respond to maintenance needs promptly.
  • Advanced understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to machinery and equipment maintenance to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities for seamless collaboration across all company levels.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing teams, setting goals, and fostering a culture of accountability.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, report issues, follow instructions, and interact with third-party vendors.
  • Able to prioritize tasks effectively and work in a heavily regulated environment.

Working Conditions
The employee works in either a dispensary and/or cultivation environment. The employee may be required to use a computer, telephone, and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The position also requires a high level of attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency. The employee must be able to work in a fast-faced environment, handling routine and reoccurring tasks.
The employee will work in environments that include exposure to, but not limited to dirt, fertilizers, dusts, odors, fumes, high heat, low temperature, high and low humidity, high noise levels, vibrations, water, dry salts, allergens, pollen, dust, plant pathogens, other volatile organic compounds, heights, indoor A/C, no A/C, and other environmental variables.
In this role, the employee will be required to operate a vehicle as an essential aspect of their responsibilities and include regular travel to fulfill job duties. The employee should be comfortable and capable of driving for extended periods, adapting to varied road and weather conditions, and adhering to all relevant safety guidelines. The ability to maintain focus and attentiveness while driving is crucial. The employee is expected to comply with all traffic laws and maintain the vehicle in safe and operational condition.
The position also requires a high level of scheduling flexibility and will occasionally include evening, weekend, and holiday work hours. The employee will encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday and must have a high regard for self-management, time management, and scheduling of activities.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time, move around, and clearly communicate. The employee must constantly position oneself to move freely. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance. The employee should have the ability to meet the physical demands of lifting, carrying and positioning heavy objects and should be familiar and comfortable using the assistance of push/pull manual transport equipment (ex: pallet jack, hand truck). The employee will often need to use a ladder, with up to a 12’ extension and general hardware tools.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Salary Range: $60,000-$65,000 per year
