Position Summary
As an Edibles Kitchen Lead, you hold a critical position overseeing the production process of cannabis-infused edible products within our production facility. Your primary role involves providing leadership and direction to the kitchen team, ensuring adherence to strict protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and regulatory requirements. You'll lead and mentor kitchen technicians, guiding them in tasks such as cooking, monitoring product quality, and maintaining cleanliness. Your responsibilities extend to monitoring product quality, analyzing production conditions, and implementing corrective measures to optimize production.
Essential Functions
- Support the Kitchen Leadership Team in meeting safety, quality, and production expectations.
- Perform and oversee daily edible production tasks including cooking, quality checks, and sanitation.
- Monitor product quality, identifying and resolving issues such as contamination or spoilage.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs and all applicable local and state regulations.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
- Adjust environmental factors (e.g., temperature, humidity) to optimize production.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, and packaging machines.
- Keep accurate records of production activities and environmental conditions.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) as outlined by the USDA.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient task completion and proper waste disposal.
- Communicate observations, issues, and process improvements to supervisors.
- Support quality control efforts throughout the production cycle.
- Participate in training and stay current on industry best practices.
- Recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and yield.

Qualifications + Education
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must pass a level II criminal background check.
- Minimum 3 years in the cannabis industry and 6 months in a relevant role.
- Experience in production/manufacturing environments preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of edible production and cannabis strains.
- At least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of environmental factors affecting production.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of state-specific cannabis laws and compliance.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Working Conditions
