Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Cultivation Technician will be part of a team producing high quality plants that meet company standards and while following all compliance requirements. This person works with members of cultivation and thrive in a team environment and plays an integral role in the company's cultivation operation.
- Perform all required duties in the Cultivation Department, including the following areas of production: inventory management, plant breeding, cloning, transplanting, feeding plants, defoliation, cropping, topping, flushing, foliar and preventative sprays.
- Responsible for plant care and maintenance from propagation through flowering stages including, but not limited to; cloning, transplanting, feeding, trellising, flushing, pruning, general canopy work per management instructions.
- With direction from Management, perform crop work and canopy maintenance, as directed
- Work daily to maintain a disease and pest-free environment
- Ensure daily task list is completed and tracked per management instructions
- Maintain accurate daily activity records and operation logs
- Oversee cleanliness and organization of all equipment present within the grow area
- Maintain a clean, SAFE and organized work environment
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform the following physical tasks: sitting, standing, stooping, stretching, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, performing repetitive motions, and carrying boxes
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and push/pull up to 100 lbs. with or without assistance as needed
- Ability to stand on concrete floor for up to 8 hours a day
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must be able to pass a Florida Department of Law Enforcement Level 2 Background Screening
- Must be able to work in a cultivation/plant environment with varying temperatures, humidity, and moderate to loud noise levels.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- Must adhere to scheduled work hours (punctuality and attendance)
- Adhere to all policy and regulations set forth by the Florida Office of Medical Marijuana Use.
- Computer, mathematic, language, and reasoning skills
Preferred Skills & Knowledge
- Degree in Biology, Horticulture, or Applied Science
- Experience in cannabis cultivation or knowledge and familiarity with Cannabis
- Knowledge of container systems with soil and hydro, as well as an understanding of temperature and humidity manipulation
- Knowledge of plant diseases, insects and fungi, as well as organic plant treatment options
- Ability to perform manual labor tasks required for the proper management of a large-scale grow facility.
